Due to recent successes and continuing opportunities for growth we are looking to recruit individuals into our regional CASS team which specialises in providing CASS audit and assurance services across the stockbroking, investment banking, life & general insurance, debt management and wealth management sectors. Protection of Client Assets is a key objective of the FCA and consequently we are increasingly supporting firms on their CASS arrangements. This work includes assisting firms in the development and assessment of the effectiveness of their governance, risk and compliance arrangements and their CASS control environment. Your role Subject to your experience level you will have or will work towards having responsibility for: • Performing external CASS audit work to support preparing reasonable assurance reports to the FCA on compliance with CASS 5, 6, 7, 8 and 11. • Delivering CASS assurance engagements, such as reviewing CASS control environments and reporting on areas of control weakness and areas of non-compliance. • Keeping up to date with FCA changes, technical and industry developments in the CASS field. • Providing CASS training - both internally to Deloitte colleagues and externally to key client staff. • Assisting in managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution • Developing strong professional working relationships with clients and key stakeholders Your work, your choice At Deloitte we believe the best impact is the value we add, not the hours we sit at our desk. Your professional experience To qualify for the role you must: • Have excellent interpersonal skills and can work on your own initiative. • Experience in the financial services sector, either as an external auditor, working within a financial services institution, in an advisory or business consulting capacity to similar organisations, or in the regulation of such institutions. • Have an excellent academic track record. Graduates with a professional accounting qualification (or working towards a professional qualification) are our preferred candidates but we will consider all candidates that have very strong and proven CASS technical skills. • Good knowledge of the wider financial services industry and the regulatory environment. • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand regulation and apply it to different business scenarios. • Be a CASS specialist already or have some knowledge and a keen desire to develop this into a specialist skill set, including a working knowledge of both the Client Assets Sourcebook and the FRC standard on Client Assets. • Have the ability to coach and develop more junior staff. Aptitude for development of the following skills would also be essential: • Project management skills. • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work under your own initiative and across a number of different and challenging engagements. • Strong presentation, business writing and professional standards.
