This role is a hybrid of CIO, Software Development Manager and Software Architect.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a driven individual and have demonstrable experience leading IT departments, specifically including software development teams and overseeing architecture decisions. You will need to exhibit the ability to handle challenging stakeholders, provide fact based analysis in support of initiatives, execute, be pragmatic, solutions orientated, and influence the organisation collaboratively. Ability to set and manage budgets is essential.

Set objectives and strategies for the IT department Work with the PMO to select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and support strategic revenue growth Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve trader experience Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organization Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage Analyse the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions Provide day to day direction and support to IT teams through an organised, disciplined and methodical approach to tasks at hand Liaise with subject matter experts in IT, PMO and other departments to secure resource and other inputs Introduce and reinforce a customer service ethos to the IT department Recruit new team members from time to time Liaise with the Head of the PMO 'Hand hold' project sponsors to assist them to achieve best outcomes for their projects Partake in project evaluations advocating agreed strategy and change plans Develop robust reporting suites for strategic, departmental and board audiences, using own initiative and creative thinking to present findings and recommendations Explore and implement new ways of working and solutions that support business activities, this includes digital innovation Attend third party trade shows and events to support your own CPD and Mandara's growth strategy
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Proven experience as CIO or similar IT leadership role Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure Background in designing/developing IT systems and especially overseeing bespoke software development and architecture Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations Analytical and problem-solving capabilities A strong strategic and business mindset Excellent organizational and leadership skills Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities An understanding of commodities trading or the trading lifecycle Experience in the trading / finance sector in the last 5 years Degree in computer science or a relevant discipline is advantageous
