Connectivity Developer London As a Barclays Connectivity Developer you will be developing the Exchange Connectivity applications which are built on a Java platform and are designed and developed to provide low-latency, high throughput processing of messages. You will be responsible for delivering exchange mandatory upgrades, designing and building new features, investigation and resolution of Production issues and performance tuning and enhancements. What will you be doing? • Helping to develop solutions to both tactical and strategic problems to meet business requirements • Understanding requirements and helping the team to deliver high quality solutions • Producing code that is appropriate for a low-latency Java platform • Participating in code reviews • Helping to develop automated testing tools to exercise functionality, performance, and capacity of code • Quickly delivering tactical fixes and simple changes where required What we're looking for: • Experience of Core Java • Experience of developing/ running Java applications under Linux • Experience with systems providing trading, risk, middle office, or other finance services • Experience with network or platform engineering Skills that will help you in the role: • Understanding of multi-threading, memory management, caching, networking, distributed systems, algorithms and/ or operating systems • Experience with scripting: Bash, Perl, Python • Knowledge of FIX, OUCH, Millennium or other financial protocols • Experience with production support Where will you be working? 5 North Colonnade is home to our investment bank and is in the heart of Canary Wharf, just a short walk from our headquarters at Churchill Place.
