On behalf of a large manufacturing client in Shipley, West Yorkshire, we are looking for skilled maintenance engineers with an electrical bias for contract positions.
Our client are the worlds largest manufacturer in their field, employing over 150,000 worldwide and boasting a large client portfolio including some of the worlds biggest names in their field.
Respond appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations, which develop in the work environment. Ensure prompt attention and resolution of conditions that impact the business.
Schedule machine time with Production in order to perform repairs or planned maintenance to equipment and may secure necessary materials and parts for the scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
Build and maintain history on equipment, assess breakdowns, prioritise and take appropriate corrective action. Provide technical assistance to ensure shortest possible machine downtime, recording and creating manuals & drawings for early machine recovery.
Attend departmental meetings with team members to discuss projects, issues, team briefings etc.
Order required parts follow up orders to ensure spare parts are fitted to the appropriate machine on delivery.
Process, review, and expedite work orders, modification and equipment drawings, schematics, check sheets, job instructions, and calibrations records.Required experience:
Recognised engineering apprenticeship, together with at least 2 year's experience in a maintenance department of a manufacturing company.
Minimum HNC or City & Guilds level 4 or equivalent (Technical Certificate, etc.)
Time served apprenticeship
PLC experience Fault finding and interrogation - Allen Bradley/Mitsubishi/ Siemens
Essential - PLC - ability to connect laptop and make minor program alterations
Ability to fault find, identify root cause, and prevent reoccurrence of issues quickly is also essential
Capable of working unsupervised or within a team
Conversant with the use of machine tools
AC, DC & Servo Drive Experience.Required skills:
Knowledge of maintenance policies, procedures, and terms.
Good oral communication.
Ability to undertake a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
Respond effectively and perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly.
Knowledge of appropriate office software applications.
Good organisational and time management skills.Hours of work and benefits:
AM - Mon - Thu 6am - 2pm Fri 6am - 11am or PM - Mon - Thu 2pm - 10pm Fri 11am - 4pm - this is a rotating shift pattern
On going contract positions available
£20 - £30 ph, paid PAYE
25 + 9 holiday days per year
