We work closely with our underwriting teams, legal entities, Regional and Global Leadership Teams, and Risk Management colleagues to understand AXA XL’s risk appetite limits and how we will meet them. We implement and deliver our risk transfer program and demonstrate how it delivers value to AXA. The Ceded Reinsurance placement team work across all business lines with the London team primarily focused on Specialty Lines and business transacted in London. The portfolio is all Treaty business with an equal split between Quota Share and Excess of Loss. DISCOVER your opportunity As a Reinsurance Placement Officer you will be responsible for leading and managing key reinsurance placements.As part of the Ceded Reinsurance Placement team, your essential responsibilities will include:Assisting with the design of, and placement process for, key reinsurance placements (submission preparation, contract review, contract negotiation, handover to Ceded Re operations etc.).Participating in negotiations to secure competitive terms, structure and pricing. Ensuring contracts reflect negotiated terms, comprehensive coverage and market leading terms and conditions. Ensuring negotiations conclude successfully on or before treaty inception.Strategizing and partnering with Actuarial, Finance, Accounting, Underwriting and Business Group Heads to build reinsurance programs that meet risk appetite, underwriting and capacity objectives.Building relationships inside and outside the enterprise to understand and foster their business objectives.Helping ensure that all related parties understand the programs, from operational through to underwriting.Serving as a strategic member of the Ceded Reinsurance Placement Team. Collaborating closely with the wider Ceded Re Team to drive innovation and continuous improvement, both for our Placements and for processes and approach.Participating in strategic projects as they arise. To take on lead and back up roles as deemed appropriate within the Global matrix structure of the team.Remaining current on coverage and legal trends to ensure contracts protect the company from adverse or unexpected lossSHARE your talent SHARE your talentWe’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:Proven Reinsurance experience is essential for this role and previous experience of Ceded Reinsurance is highly beneficial Understanding of Reinsurance contract wordings including formation and interpretation Able to demonstrate strong data and analytical skills and the ability to manage large submission data sets Understanding of the role of capital modelling and actuarial analysis in the purchase of reinsurance is beneficial Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration and presentation skills. ability to negotiate reinsurance business externally. Able to work across a global team; showing strong collaboration with peers and other team members Mental Agility: Innovative thinker, willing to turn ideas on their head. Capable of handling complex situations.
