About the team
Reservation media covers anything that is bought on an approval / IO basis, so incorporates Video – TV, VOD, Cinema, Audio, Publishing and on-line Display media disciplines.
The Media Activation team leverages their mastery of each channel to make sure its recommendations are consistently excellent and innovative, and that in-channel performance and data integrity is maximised. The team is made up of a cluster of client hubs and works closely with Investment, planning and client services.
About the role
You will join team Airbnb at Essence – this team is responsible for the Activation of media for Airbnb. Joining the Video team you would have a specialist focus on shaping and executing their TV, VOD and Cinema campaigns.
With a very experienced and talented TV team, we are looking for an experienced Video buyer to implement the delivery of Video activity across one of the UK’s biggest accounts. The candidate will work closely with our two existing Account Execs across Brand and DR, actively delivering day-to-day campaign work and setting a standard for Best Practice for Video.
As an Senior Executive, you will work closely with activation managers on our team as well as Planning teams on the details and strategy of campaigns, particularly major launches. Part of your role will require presenting the rationale and plans to our clients and answering any questions they have on the roles of individual Video channels. The wider plan will need to translate into tangible results at Activation stage.
An understanding of the Broadcast VOD, Online Video and Cinema markets is vital, with all three regularly featuring on plans. You will be expected to understand the various buying methods and tech and measurement vehicles that can be utilised for the benefit of the client. Our goal at Essence is to ensure the airbnb client believe our expertise and output in the wider Video space to be gold standard in the same way that they view our work in traditional TV.
Some of the things we'd like you to do:
Learn the craft of Media Activation across traditionally bought (reservation) media as well as some programmatically bought digital. An understanding of the Broadcast VOD, Online Video and Cinema markets is vital Support more senior members of the team by assisting on the planning and buying of media campaigns. Contributing to the development of clearly thought out channel strategies that help assist the overall media strategy. This includes confidently presenting your work to the client, both in documented and verbal form Establish strong working relationships with key internal teams as well as media owners and clients. Assist with the compilation of campaign coverage and frequencies, postioning reports, buying and delivery reports, media marketplace documents using tools such as Addynamix and TGI Be responsible for booking and invoice management, along with other key administrative tasks Contribute to team knowledge sharing and implement best practices Keep up to date with latest industry news and be proactive in spotting trends (seasonal or otherwise) which could affect clients' campaigns
A bit about yourself:
A passion for media, with an active interest and understanding of advertising industry trends Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are particularly important in developing client relationships and maintaining efficient communication across the team Diligent and attentive to detail; able to follow through on projects and/or issues Great analysis skills (including quantitative analysis) and confidence in making information based decisions Computer literate with good skills in all basic Office programs (including Excel)
